Fabric rechargeable lamp lampshade knowledge

Fabric lampshades are the soul of rechargeable table lamps. A high-quality fabric shade can make the lamp look absolutely stunning. We'll break down the structural components of our lampshade for you.

The loop ring is the circular fitting that attaches the fabric shade to the lamp base. Loop height refers to the distance between the bottom of the fabric shade and the loop ring.

Loop height determines the position of the bulb once the lampshade is installed. The higher the loop ring, the higher the bulb sits inside the shade. Our rechargeable lamps come with compact, short fabric shades, so spacer height must be carefully controlled to stop the bulb from protruding out of the shade.

Loop rings are available in E27 and E14 fitting sizes. An E27 loop ring can be converted to fit E14 bulbs using adapter gaskets. The circular disc shown in the picture below is the loop ring.

Loop rings are divided into single-layer and double-layer types. A single-layer spacer features one layer of adhesive backing, while a double-layer spacer has two layers of adhesive backing. The spacer shown below is the double-layer type.

Metal Fixing Structures

1.Top fixing structure shades with this structure can be stacked together for packaging to save space.

2.Bottom fixing structure shades of this type cannot be stacked during packaging.

3.Hanging fixture structure These shades are stackable for packaging. However, the hanging bracket will block light during illumination and create shadows.

Internal Metal Support Structure of Lampshades

For fabric shades made of rigid material: Supported entirely by the stiffness of the fabric itself, no extra metal supports required.

For soft fabric shades: Three metal support frames are fitted at both the top and bottom for reinforcement (as shown in the figure below).

Trim Styles of Fabric Lampshades: Inner Trim, Outer Trim & Trim Sticking

Trim is designed to firmly stick fabric to metal.

1.Inner trim creates an evenly uniform surface all over the shade.

2.Outer trim exposes striped edges on the top and bottom rims.

3.Trim sticking functions solely for decoration.

For irregular-shaped shade edging, TC fabric is highly recommended rather than wealthy silk satin, as the latter tends to wrinkle easily.

Fabric Materials for Lampshades

Available shade fabrics: Wealthy silk, T/C fabric, linen, polyeste

T/C fabric is our most commonly used material. Wealthy silk satin supports a wider variety of patterns and color designs. Polyeste linen blend delivers superior texture and a high-end look; the higher the cotton content, the softer and more costly the fabric.

Lining Materials

Lining materials include PS and PVC, available in transparent and milky white colors.

PS material is relatively soft; it dents easily under pressure and cannot spring back well, yet it delivers soft light transmission. PVC material features higher rigidity with slightly inferior light diffusion compared to PS. These two are our most commonly used lining materials.
