How to distinguish Low-Quality Electroplating High-Quality Electroplating?
Dec 12, 2025
There are significant differences between low-quality electroplating and high-quality electroplating in terms of process flow, quality control, and cost, as follows:
Low-Quality Electroplating
The production process of low-quality electroplating is relatively simplified, with low requirements for quality control. Its process is: first, the product is subjected to one sand polishing treatment, and then directly enters the electroplating process. During this process, the production focus is only on completing the established process, with a lack of control over key indicators such as polishing effect and electroplating quality, and no attention to detailed quality, resulting in poor stability of the final product quality, which is difficult to meet higher appearance and performance requirements

High-Quality Electroplating
High-quality electroplating focuses on the refined management of each production link to ensure that the product quality meets high standards.
1.Polishing Process: The initial product blank needs to undergo three sand polishing treatments, and strictly follow the sand number sequence: 182-grit sand, 260-grit sand, and 320-grit sand (the larger the number, the finer the sand). After completing the three sand polishing steps,Metal wire drawing are drawn to significantly improve the texture of the electroplated product. After polishing, the product needs to be fully inspected, focusing on whether there are scratches and whether the are clear. Each step of the process needs to be rigorous.
2.Protective Measures: Qualified polished products need to be properly wrapped to avoid collision damage during transportation, which may affect the appearance and quality of the product.
3.Electroplating and Subsequent Processing: The wrapped products are sent to the electroplating factory for electroplating processing. After electroplating is completed, they are brought back to the company for inspection to see if there are any problems. If there are problems, they are sent back for rework.
4.Cost Factors: During the high-quality electroplating process, there may be parts falling off in the electroplating link, and the product loss rate during the entire process is about 10%-20%. At the same time, strict process management, multiple quality inspections, and rework processing increase time costs and management costs. The superposition of product loss, time cost, and management cost makes the overall cost of high-quality electroplating relatively high.
